Evelyn H. Thomas

Evelyn Helen Thomas was born to Rose and Donald Lair on January 4, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was married to Raymond Harry Thomas for 52 years and they have four children together. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a devoted wife and loving mother. She loved her family and they were her passion in life. She enjoyed spending time on her flowers and watching the birds. She passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the age of 84, in her home, as she wished. She was an amazing person, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children: daughter, Chris Field, son, Russ (Cheryl) Thomas, daughter, Debbie Comiskey-Thomas, son, Roger (Renee) Thomas; eleven grandchildren: Todd Field, Tisha Field, Tracey Field, Justin (Ronna) Thomas, Lynsey (Andy) Lockwood, Cody Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Ally Comiskey, Logan Thomas, Rylee Thomas, and Mason Thomas; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen McNeal and Kathy Donati; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, parents, Rose and Donald, and her brother, Donald Jr.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street, Altoona. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7th, also at Hamilton’s Altoona, and will conclude with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
