Marjorie Ruby Kothenbeutel, 94, a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Fri. Dec 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born on July 12, 1923 in Knowlton, Iowa to Zulah (Larson) and Major Vernon Ruby.
Marjorie graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to become a transcriptionist for The Clinical Pathology Lab. She married Dean Kothenbeutel on Sept 5, 1942 and they were blessed with two daughters. She was a long time member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.
Those cherishing her memory are her daughters, Judy Morgan and Jeri (John) Lee, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean and her son-in-law Joe Morgan. Following her wishes, Cremation Rites have taken place and services will be held in the spring of 2018.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's honor and directed to Park Avenue Presbyterian Church or The Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Jerri and Judy,
I just read about your mother in the paper. I'm sorry I didn't see it in December. I'm glad she lived a long life, hopefully mostly pain free. I would love to see you both, but we are in Phoenix right now. My prayers are with you.
