Mary Barr, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Baxter and Mona Green.
She enjoyed making quilts, writing poetry, baking and decorating cakes, and was very artistic. She had a great sense of humor and was always making others laugh. Mary was a VIP of Bashful Blonde. She guided truckers through Des Moines using CB radio and was very involved in reporting traffic to radio stations.
Mary is survived by her children, Mary Corell, Carl (Amber) Barr, Jr., Jerry (Barbara) Barr, Alan (Kim) Barr, Larry Barr, Dan Barr, and Connie Barr; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; her faithful dog, Toby; and many friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Barr, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thank u grandma for always being the best grandma mom and great grandma to everyone. Thanks for letting my mom talk care of u when u needed help and me and my daughter Kyrie Kremer to be with u til your last breath. U mean the world to me and my family. We love u to the moon and back and fly high until we meet again. Love your grand daughter Elizabeth Barr and your great grand kids Austin Brommel Kyrie Kremer Trevor Brommel and Jessica Kremer.. u also meant a lot to my boys adopted mom Sara Brommel... U will always missed and in our hearts forever..
