Larry W. Barry
November 25, 2017
Larry Barry, 71, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, at his home in Des Moines. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A Masonic Service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
If you met Larry, you were his friend. He had an innate ability to connect with people, assuming the best in everyone and accepting them for who they were. Larry was a proud grandfather, father, and loyal friend. He played weekly cards with the same group for over 30 years. He also appreciated classic cars and enjoyed traveling. Larry was a true entrepreneur, always excited to explore new opportunities.
Larry was born, February 27, 1946 in Fredericktown, PA to Margaret Benci and Steven Barry. They both preceded Larry in death along with his first wife, Jean Dorazio Barry. He is survived by his children, Jim, Michelle (Jesse Nemeth), Dan (Anne) and Dave (Jamie) Barry; his grandchildren, Mabel, Oak, Ava, Lillia, Jaxson, Asher, and Alice; his brother, Steve Barry; and his former wife of 24 years and life-long friend, Elaine Barry.

So sad. Larry took very good care of us when our house burned in 1994. Just happened to talk to Larry last week before he played pitch with his card club friends. He will be missed.
