Raymond "Lee" Barr

Raymond “Lee” Barr, 76, passed away on November 24, 2017. He was born July 24, 1941 in Kansas to Raymond and Marietta Barr.
Lee served his country proudly in the Army. He was a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lee worked as an electrician for IBEW – Local 347 for 40 years until his retirement in 2002.
Lee is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karyn; children, Melissa (Vince) Crawford, Jeff (Billie) Barr, Ashley Barr and Erin (Armando) Bernardino; grandchildren, Ross, Jasmine, Miah and Dominic; and brother, David.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Lee will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Lee and I shared a love of sarcasm and giving one another a hard time. He sometimes made you think he was tough...but once you got to know him he had a gentle soul. My deepest sympathies to Karyn and his family. My prayers are with you.
