William Reames

William J Reames, born on March 11, 1924, in Trenton, Mo., died on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008 at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Ave. with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
William graduated from Open Bible College in 1945. He worked for Meredith Corporation and had various other jobs until he co-founded Reames Foods, Inc.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Letha Reames; his four brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 30 years; his daughters, Lucinda (Dave) Hammerberg of West Des Moines, Chrissie (Jim) Kephart of Windsor Heights, and JoEllen Hudson of West Des Moines; stepchildren, Suzi (Bob) Berry of Azle, Texas, Ric (Susan) Norris of Colleyville, Texas Randy (Donna) Norris of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Gayla (Tim) Wilson of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
