Theodore Dhainin

Theodore “Ted” L. Dhainin passed away peacefully at home in Sun City West, Arizona on April 18, 2008. He was born in Des Moines on May 12, 1923 weighing 1 ½ lbs.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Cemetery.
Ted was a salesman/estimator for Moehl Millwork in Des Moines for 40 years before retiring to Sun City West, Arizona. He enjoyed carpentry, traveling, camping, fishing and long walks with Leona, the love of his life for 64 years. He was also an avid Cubs fan. Ted was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge #269 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Ted is survived by his wife, Leona Murphy Dhainin; son Kelly Dhainin of Sun City West, AZ; daughter, Kathleen (Rick) Lorenz; two grandsons, Richie (Megan) Lorenz and Rob (Ashley) Lorenz; two great-granddaughters, Katie and Teddi all of Lafayette, IN; sisters, Pat (Harry) Cruchelow of Portland, OR and Joanne (Glen) Aden of Mesq, AZ; and 28 nephews and nieces. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Gretchen and his brother, Phil “Fritz”.
Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.
