Thelma Miller

Thelma B. Miller, 91, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at St. Peter’s Worship Center in Des Moines, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Thelma was born November 22, 1916 in Des Moines to Clement and Lena Treanor. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She loved Ballroom dancing, bowling, playing BINGO, and always had a place in her heart for stray animals. During the last twelve years, Thelma had been living at Bishop Drumm Care Center. The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the wonderful care she received there.
Thelma is survived by her sons: Larry (Joyce) and Greg (Julie) Lewis; her sister, Geraldine Blunk; her grandchildren: Vaughn, Keith, and Amanda Lewis, and Cassandra Leach; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, or Bishop Drumm Care Center.
