Julane Hansen

Julane “Whitie” W. Hansen, 84, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on Sunday, April 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday at Highland Park Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Whitie was born March 20, 1924 in Des Moines to Alma and Jens Hansen. He graduated from East High School in 1942. Whitie married Marjorie Berry on March 18, 1945. He worked at Solar Aircraft, Sanders Motors and retired as a District Manager for Monroe Auto Equipment Company. Whitie enjoyed woodworking, bowling, golf, fishing, camping and watching sports.
He loved spending time with his family.
Whitie was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, LaVonna Riggs, his brother, Darwin Hansen. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie; his children, Julie (Charles) Larsen, Tom (Barbara) Hansen and Jan (Jim) Speed; his grandchildren, Erin Hansen, Mark Hansen, Tim Speed, Erika Salinas, Ali Speed ; 7 great grandchildren.
