Vernon Walker, 82, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Kavanagh on 56th St. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Vernon was born December 29, 1925 to Guy and Pearl Walker in Creston. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Vernon retired from Heideman Drywall. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Alan) Kiley; brothers, Harold, John (Clara), Darrell (Opal) and Jerry (Mary Lou) Walker; sisters, Neva Robnetti, Ella Michael, Wilma Cunningham, Margaret Darr and Kathy (Larry) Darr; grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and C.J. Kiley; great-grandson, Cody Kiley; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
