Eleanor Scovel

Eleanor “Diane” Scovel, 66, passed away surrounded by family Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Diane was born January 10, 1942 in Des Moines, where she resided her entire life. She was the definition of a mother. Diane had an unconditional love for her family, especially her grandchildren. After the death of her mother she put her life on hold to raise her siblings. Diane was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She retired from Wellmark BC/BS of IA in 2004.
Diane is survived by her children, Vonnie (Tyler) Pham; Rhonda (David) Wermes, Rocky (Tiffany) Scovel and Marty Scovel; brothers, Kenny, Tommy, Mike and Ronnie Bougher; sisters, Mary Kargol, Norma Hildenbrand and Sheryl Charron; sister-in-law, Fern Bougher; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Scovel; her parents, Al and Nellie Bougher; four brothers and a sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House. The family would like to extend a special thank you to their staff for the exceptional care and kindness Diane received during her stay.
