Gerald Kutchen

Jer left this life on April 7th 2008 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, April 12th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Jer was born on October 20th, 1940 to Frank and Sarah Kutchen in Des Moines. He was a lifelong resident of Des Moines living on the southside for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, swimming, going to the lake and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jer always enjoyed making people happy and his laugh will be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Edie; daughter, Jerri Marie; grandchildren, Quin and Baylie; brothers, Frank (Ginny) Kutchen, Ron (Cindy) Kutchen; sisters, Carol Slater, Nancy (Ken) Herndon, Mary (Al) Chadwick; sister in laws, Carol Harter, Pat (Bud) Beaty, Nancy Mendenhall; brother in laws, Bob (Sylvia) Mendenhall, Lyle (Nancy) Mendenhall of Parish, Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in law, Hoyt and Lila Mendenhall; brother in laws, Harlan (Maxine) Mendenhall, Don Milligan and sister in law, Helen Milligan.
