Douglas Phipps, 62, passed away on November 23, 2017, at On with Life in Glenwood, Iowa. He was born in Des Moines, on January 3, 1954, to Richard and Janet (Conant) Phipps.
Douglas was a member of Westkirk Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club, and the Executive Board of the Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed sailing, biking and being with his family.
Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Casey Phipps of Ankeny; son, Brian (Leah) Phipps of Ames; daughter, Ashley (Nathan) Rosenfeld of St. Louis; step-daughter, Alexandria (AJ) Brennecke of Ankeny; three grandchildren, Alice, Harrison and Brock; brother, Jeff Phipps; and sister, Debbie Phipps; nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League, in loving memory of Douglas.

My sincere sympathies on the loss of your husband and father. Doug worked for me at the Shell Station on Beaver Ave. back in the 70's. I remember Doug as a hard working and dependable employee. May the good memories of Doug help you during this time. R.I.P. Doug
