James Daley

James Daley, Jr., 74, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th in Des Moines with a Rosary said at 7:00 p.m.
James was born December 31, 1933 to Mildred and James Daley, Sr. in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for 41 years. Before that, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Bellizzi McCray American Legion, and was president of PDCA. He loved fishing, traveling, going to casinos, and watching the Cyclones, Chiefs, and Cubs.
James is survived by his children, Jeff and Michael (Sheila) Daley; his sister, Lois Coffey; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Wrigley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Margaret.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
