Robert Dickey

Robert W. Dickey, 84, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born in Des Moines on September 30, 1923 to Harry and Emma Dickey. He was an East High graduate and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Za Ga Zig Shrine, Chanters of the Shrine, the Order of the “Q”, and a 50 year member of the Carpenter Union. He enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, working in his yard, especially his garden.
Robert is survived by his children; Bob (Kathy) Dickey, Pam (Terry Lynch) Dickey, Michael Dickey and Peggy Dickey; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth (Andrea) Sanzani-Bocca of Genova, Italy; sister, Betty House of Portland Oregon; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Za Ga Zig Shrine Hospitals.
