Service Details

Velma A. Isacson, 90, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Luther Park from pnemonia. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday at Callender Cemetery in Callender, Iowa.
Velma was born March 27, 1918 to Martin and Martha Wing in Callender. She was a member of Grant Park Christian Church and was a beautician for most of her life. Velma had lived the last 14 years at Luther Park where she collected bells and enjoyed walking the halls, smiling, at Luther Park.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Susan (Lee Lammert) Anderson of St. Louis, MO; sister, Eleanor Kullberg of Gowrie, IA; many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends at Luther Park; and her special care provider and friend, Paulette Sherod.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Isacson; brothers, Edwin, Marlo, and Darwin Wing; and sister, Darlene Klein.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Tree and Flower Memorial Program at Des Moines Water Works.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
