Bonnye Lee Savage, 62, passed from this life on Monday, March 31, 2008 with her family nearby.
Ms. Savage was born March 12, 1946 in Des Moines, the daughter of Bob A. and Ruth (Chase) Savage. A lifelong resident of Des Moines, she graduated from East High School and Iowa School of Beauty.
Bonnye loved flowers, the color red, her beloved cats and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her parents, Bob and Ruth Savage of Des Moines; son, Bob (Shannon) Hayes of Des Moines; daughter, Marlo (Ray) Hand of Ames; six grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha, Delaney, Jax, Kevin and Nicollette; two sisters, Bobbye (Sam) Scheidler of Clive and Lynda Simon, of Des Moines.
A private Celebration of Life was held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.

Dear Marlo and Bob,
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I first knew her when she and your dad and my husband and I went to San Francisco together years ago for a CWA convention. She was always so fun to be around. We met again when I was your art teacher at Oak Park and she was such a caring and involved mom. We had fun too when she worked at Oak Park together. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I am so sorry.
