Ruby Goforth

Ruby O. Goforth, 89, died at her home Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ruby was born February 6, 1919 in Des Moines to Ira and Fern (Deaton) Murphy. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines.
Ruby is survived by her children, Sandra (Sam) Branchcomb, Linda (Bill) Hebron, Pam Lord, David (Twila) Haviland, Tim (Melody) Goforth, Dale (Lupe) Haviland and Tom Goforth; brother, Ira Murphy; sister, Frances Owens; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Marion Goforth and Lyle Haviland; and seven children.
