Frances Robbins

Frances Purscell Robbins, 90, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Frances was born November 15, 1917 in Sedalia, Missouri to Missouri Florence Sigman and Oscar Elsworth Jeffries. She worked as the front desk clerk at the Elliot Hotel for 20 years before her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, going to the farmer’s market, watching Jeopardy and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her sons, James (Wanda) Purscell of Benton, Arkansas, Wayne (Gloria) Purscell of Des Moines, Jerry (Susan) Purscell of Runnells and Larry (Kathy) Purscell of Nevada; sister, Maxine Sisemore, of Gardner, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Purscell and Dale Robbins; daughter, Shirley Mae; siblings, Rosella, Edna, Jack, Anna May and Newton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Ankeny.
