Ruth Magdalene Cook, 73, of Des Moines died on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. The family will greet friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Cremation will follow visitation and there will be a private family burial of the cremains on Friday. Ruth was a devout Christian who was committed to her family. She was born at her home in Roseville, Iowa on July 12, 1934. She attended school and graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Roseville. In 1970 she moved to the south side of Des Moines where she made a home for her and her children and where she has spent the last 38 years of her life. She was retired from Mercy Medical Center where she had worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, playing cards and doing puzzles. She enjoyed the Cubs and the Packers and especially spending time following her grandchildren’s activities. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Kris of Indianola, her daughter Michelle Cook-Eash and her husband Scott of Des Moines, her grandchildren Kaylyn Landry, Trever Clark, Tanner Eash and Treyton Cook, her brother Leo Naumann as well as her sisters Agnes Whitmore and Mary Lou Naumann. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Rose Naumann, her brothers Bernard and George Naumann and her sister Rose Marie Marzen.
