Melvin Overton

Melvin M. Overton, 85, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with visitation two hours prior. Entombment will be at Resthaven Mausoleum.
Melvin was born September 18, 1921 in Lincoln Nebraska to Claude and Mable Overton. He attended Eastwood Open Bible Church and was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. Melvin enjoyed working in his yard.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth; son, Paul Overton of Omaha, NE; sisters, Alice Everart and Virginia McCool both of Des Moines; brothers, Stuart and Verdi Overton both of Colorado; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
