Thomas Davis

Thomas E. Davis, 84, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Legend Transitional Care Center in McAllen, Texas. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Tom was born June 21, 1923 to Harold and Ada Davis in Des Moines. He graduated from North High School and served in the Navy during WWII. Tom drove for Greyhound Bus Line and then retired from Pulley Freight Line in 1985. After retirement, he enjoyed mowing, plowing snow, and driving residents at the nursing home for the Altoona Parks Department. Tom was a member of the Altoona VFW Post 11025 and the Auburn Masonic Lodge Post 592.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Maryella Reiland Davis of Altoona; children, Debra (Jeff) Nichols of Altoona, George (Wanoeka) Davis of Altoona, and Roxane (Dwayne) Crozier of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will occur on June 21, 2008 at the Altoona Cemetery.
