Joann Severino

Joann Kay Severino passed away March 21, 2008 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Joann was born on February 20, 1949 in Creston, Iowa to Joe and Ann Motsinger. She lived in Mt. Ayr and Diagonal before moving to Des Moines where she lived the rest of her life.
She was married to John Severino on October 4, 1982. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past October.
She was employed at Ruan for several years. She enjoyed making crafts and designing greeting cards. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
She has three children; Corrie Coffey, Pat (Traci) Winn and Teresa Winn. She also had three step-children; John Jr. (Michelle) Severino, Joni Severino, and Joe (Alaina) Severino. Together they have thirteen grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, John, father, Joe (Darlene) Motsinger, mother,Ann McCarter, all of her children and grandchildren, one sister, Kathy (Dean) Fast, aunts and uncles, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with burial at Glendale Cemetery.
