Mira Miller, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. She was born to Neal and Cyrene (Roberts) Stilwell on June 20, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mira was a voracious reader who could always be found sitting on the back deck reading books and the newspaper. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, and had a love for the outdoors and was known for her green thumb. Mira was a homemaker who took great pride in devoting herself to her family and home. She was an active member at Wesley United Methodist Church and also Co-Chairman of Capitol East Neighborhood Association. Mira had the most generous loving heart, always putting her loved ones before herself without a moment’s hesitation. Her bright smile, beautiful bright blue eyes, and kind heart will be sorely missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 59 years, Robert; daughter, Teresa (Raymond) Parsons; son, Jim (Sherry) Miller; grandchildren, Amy Miller, Daniel (Barbara) Parsons, Andy Parsons, Annabelle and Mason Miller; and great-grandchildren, Jayden Parsons and Axel Parsons.

Mira was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, November 18th also, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the family and will then be directed to John Stoddard Cancer Center in loving memory of Mira.
