Ronald L. Hancock

Ron Hancock, 60, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home from a heart attack. He was born February 7, 1957 to Roy and Norma Hancock in Newton.

Ron attended Lutheran Church of the Cross and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed fishing, sprint car races in Knoxville, and Nascar. His greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren, always bringing a smile to his face.

Ron is survived by his children, Katie Hancock, Joe (Brandi) Hancock, Ben (Stephanie) Lake, Leah Driggers, and Dani Driggers; grandchildren, Cameron, Dakota, Bradon, Marek, Piper, Ayker, Bristol, and Bennett; mother, Norma Sheets; sisters, Karen McDaniel and Judy (Beaner) Little; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hancock; daughter, Tara Overmyer; and the love of his life, Sharon Driggers.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW, Altoona, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
