Connie Marie Quijano was born September 19, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Alejandro and Susie (Hernandez) Quijano. She loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. Connie enjoyed cooking Mexican food for her family and friends. She was a football fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots and cheering on (or scolding) Tom Brady. Connie was also a dog lover.
Connie passed away peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 76.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, also at Hamilton’s, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Susie Quijano Currie (Todd), Linda Alarcon Reeves (James), and Reina Alarcon (Todd Makinster); grandchildren, Felicia, Celeste, Alexandra, Jessie, Briana, Raven, Shane and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Gabriela, Bianca, Alejandro, Bella, Jocelyn, and was expecting a new great-grandchild in April, 2018; other extended family and friends; and not to be forgotten, her beloved dog, Chico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Susie Quijano.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Pius V Church Shrine of St. Jude, 1910 S. Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60608, in loving memory of Connie.

Connie was a co-worker of mine at Crouse Cartage in the 1990's until they closed September 16 2000.
She was a good worker and a good person. I saw her a couple times after. I have good memories of her.
