Charles "Chuck" S. Cipale, Jr.
October 25, 2017
Charles “Chuck” Cipale, Jr., 44, of Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 25, 2017 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Charles Salvatorre Cipale, Jr. was born on June 12, 1973 in Des Moines to Marlena (Campero) and Charles Cipale, Sr. He was a family man and loved having dinners at his mom’s house with his siblings. One of his greatest joys was coaching his son’s baseball teams. When he wasn’t coaching them, watching their games was the highlight of his life.
Although Chuck struggled most of his life fighting illness, he was a very proud and private man. He fought long and hard to overcome his illnesses, but couldn’t fight any longer. Chuck is now at peace with the person he missed the most, his dad.
Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Marlena; sons, Luke and Dominic; siblings, Julie (John) Sloan, Lisa Cipale and Nick Cipale; nieces, Marissa Loudon, Bella Loudon, Sienna Sloan; nephew, Joseph Felice; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cipale, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Nick and Margaret Campero and paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Cipale.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Soteria Baptist Church, 3250 Soteria Ave. in West Des Moines. He will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery following the service.
