Paul was a dear friend, role model, and roommate through our four years at Stanford. Returning once to California from a business trip to Washington, D.C. I stopped by his El Paso home to watch Apollo 11 touch down on the moon. He then took me to the airport in time to get home to my wife and five-month old daughter to see Armstrong set foot on the moon. Paul was one of my groomsmen in 1967. He was a fine man.

Deepest condolences to Thain's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him while my Grandma was at Calvin Community.
