Arthur Ferguson

Arthur Ferguson, 88, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Arthur was born October 15, 1919 to John and Margaret Ferguson in Des Moines. He was a member of the Des Moines Police Department, retiring as a Captain after 26 years of service. Arthur was a member of the Iowa State Police Association, Iowa Association of Chiefs of Police, Disabled American Veterans, Home Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Sheriffs and Deputies Association and a five year veteran of the U.S. Army.
Arthur is survived by his son, Robert C. (Cherelyn); three grandchildren, Angela (David), Scott (Shawna) and Kelly (Ty); great grandchildren, Paul, Dean, Jake, Emily and Erika; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel and four brothers. Also, a special thank you to Susie Mahana, his angel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Children’s Hospital.
