Sophia Homan

Sophia T. Cordes Homan, 90, passed away, Monday, March 10, 2008 in Des Moines, Iowa where she has been living for the past 34 years. Our Loving Heavenly Father has called from this earthly pilgrimage, Sophia, daughter of Ludwig Cordes and Ida C. Matthies Cordes. Sophia was born on August 1, 1917 in Grundy County, near Fern.
On January 21, 1948, Sophia was united in marriage to Roy P. Homan of Ackley.
She is survived by her three children, (Jim) Merlyn Cordes of Des Moines; Linda Epley (Larry) of Polk City; Gail Osborn (Doyle) of Polk City; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters, 3 brothers and her husband, Roy P. Homan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. John’s Church of Christ, 716 3rd Ave., Ackley, IA. Family will visit with friends from 5 to 8 p.m., with 7 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday, March 12 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.
