Vivian Allen

Vivian I. Allen, 86, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Northern Mahaska Nursing Center in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial in Glendale Cemetery.
Vivian was born December 17, 1921 in Allerton, Iowa. She loved animals, and working on embroidery. She is survived by her son, Dave of Des Moines; her daughter Marple Cano of Oskaloosa; her sister, Maxine McDowell of Altoona; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren with one on the way; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and T. Sapp and Oscar Cox, and her husband, Francis Allen.
