Service Details

Kathleen Lynn Yohe was born in Denver, Colorado on March 5, 1944. But she was known by most as “Sam”, after changing her name to Selisia Arleaux.
Her father James Watkin Yohe, was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. Sam was proud of her Native American heritage and began to share this passion with her daughter as her father did for her during her early years of life. Her father did not stay long in his daughter’s life but left an impression on her forever. Her mother, Bernice Rhodes-Yohe, also impacted her young daughter’s life. Of the many things Bernice taught her daughter, how to cook was one thing that Sam cherished. Sam tried to pass this tradition on to her daughter.
Sam was a devoted mother of one daughter, Krystal Leigh-Anna Arleaux. She was also a proud grandparent of one incredible little boy named Zachary Taylor Morton.
She had the spunk of 20 little old ladies. She always told things how they were! Sam was a jack of all trades, she had held jobs in many different fields, but creativity was her specialty. She was always gluing this here, cutting out that, putting glitter over there, and adding her own personal style to all the crafts she made. She would sell some, give some to others, and keep things for herself. Sam’s smile was infections, even in the years following her stroke she would look up and give that crooked smile to anyone and everyone who she came in contact with. Her fighting spirit is an inspiration to all who knew her. Sam went to meet her maker on March 1st 2008 at her home in Mitchellville, Iowa. She will be missed greatly and remembered always!
