Earl Powell

Earl A. Powell, 82, died, Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny where he had resided since November 2005. Earl was born January 14, 1926 in Bucklin, Missouri to Andrew and Ova Edith Powell.

Earl served in the Army Air Corps until his honorable discharge. His working life was spent mostly in the construction industry; he was an accomplished carpenter and a master craftsman.

He is survived by two sons, EJ (Bonnie) Powell of Moore, SC and Jack Powell of
Polk City; two daughters, Mabel (Ted) Fisher of Pleasant Hill, and Glady
Busick of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Karen Powell of Lincoln, NE; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary, his son Andy, his brother, Jim among others.

Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens is handling the cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
