Velma Black

Velma J. Black, 86, passed away October 15, 2017, at Courtyard Estates in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. She was born August 18, 1931, in Osceola, Iowa, to Clayton and Ruth Cline.
Velma was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts. She loved spending time with her family including her dog, Holly.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Pam (Russ) Morine and Cindy Blakley; grandchildren, Laurie (Shannon) Rutledge, Stacy (Ryan) Roberts, Rustina (Jason) Knutzon, Michael (Kate) Schultz; great-grandchildren, Austin, Zach, Alexis, Carley, Landon, Will, Libby and Weston; sister, Glida Jones; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m.

Im so very sorry this is so long after the fact but I just saw this and wanted to send my condolences. I have many fond memories of your parents and you both from my childhood. Camping with you all and our moms sharing patterns. I am so sorry for your loss.
