Charles Thomas McCormick, Jr.
Of Pleasant Hill, Iowa
Charles McCormick, Jr., (Charlie) went home to be with the Lord October 12, 2017. He was born January 9, 1925 in Jacksonville, FL. He was a humble, quiet man who loved God, his wife, family and country. He was honored to have served in the Navy during WWII.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyne (Galenbeck) McCormick; daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Rumple; son, Brian (Monika) McCormick, son, Kirk McCormick; four grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) McCormick, Katie (Aaron) Davis, Cameron McCormick, and David McCormick; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Faelan; sister, Virginia Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Matte McCormick, Sr.; four brothers; and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Samaritan's Purse in memory of Charlie.

Charlie will always be remembered as "Andrew the bringer" in my life. Andrew, one of the disciples, always took people to Jesus and that was my initial meeting with Charlie. Always more than eager to share his faith, as all the McCormicks did while I was at East High School. His life was lived by faith accepting the free gift of grace. Thank you Sir for being a spiritual mentor to so many of us. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith! Thank you for your service to this great country. Go Navy!
