Mae Countryman

Mae Arlene Countryman, 82, passed away on Tuesday morning on October 10, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society in Indianola. Mae was born on March 23, 1935 in Cummings, Iowa to Marie (Lane) and Ivan Hyde.
Mae married Henry Countryman and they spent 45 years together before his passing in 1998. To this union they were blessed with five children. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She was a long-time Jehovah witness. Mae was a loving mother, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved her faith. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra (David) Hanson, Pam (Gary) Griess, Michael (Brenda) Countryman, James (Diane) Countryman and Donald Countryman; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Fern Thacker and Elnora Dykes; brother, Donald (Beth) Hyde; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry; her parents; her sister, Carol Wright; brothers, Ronald and Irvin Hyde; and her great-granddaughter, Alyssa Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Avon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Jehovah’s Witness Wautrous Terrace of Des Moines in memory of Mae.

We were sorry to hear about your mother. Mae and Leroy were great role models for all of the other brothers and sisters. We will always think of her fondly and our sympathy to all of her wonderful kids.

I am saddened to hear of you mothers passing.
While I didn't know her well personally, I know what a wonderful person she was by the kindness she taught to her children..

I will miss you greatly grandma I hope that you will look after my daughter Alyssa Morgan the way that you did me. you taught me many things I make my sunny side up eggs perfectly the way that you did.
