Service Details
Jack Francis Noonan, 18, of Ankeny passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Lutheran Church of Hope - Ankeny, 520 NW 36th St, Ankeny. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017 also at the church. Jack will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines following the service.
Jack was born in Des Moines on July 17, 1999. He grew up in Ankeny where he attended Ankeny High School. He enjoyed Jazz Band, Show Choir, Color Guard, and Concert Choir. He graduated in 2017 and recently attended Iowa State University.
He was a deep thinker and enjoyed spending time with friends, writing music, playing video games, attending St. Louis Cardinals games, and making people smile.
Jack is survived by his parents, Sean and Shanda Noonan; brother, Connor Noonan of Ankeny; grandparents, Jim & Kris Noonan of Dubuque, Jim & Dixie Tyler of Winterset; aunt, Molly (Billy) Bodish and their children Cody & Hope Krause of Dubuque; aunt, Erin (Russ) Tomkins and their children Ella, Tanner & Aubrey of Dubuque; uncle, Jarame (Brenda) Tyler and their children Nathan, Katie, Jackie & Rebecca of Waterloo; aunt, Heather (Joe) Wilgenbusch and their children, Lucas & Lane of St. Charles; uncle, Jessy (Pam) Shady and their children Ashtyn, Kamryn & Randy of Winterset; many great aunts and uncles; as well as too many friends to name, but he loved you all.
Memorials can be made out to Sean and Shanda Noonan for Jack’s memorial and encourage donations in his name to Ankeny Instrumental Music Foundation, www.ankenybands.com.

My nephew Michael is deeply saddened and i want to express my sincerest condolences to Jacks entire family. Michael went to school in Ankeny with Jack and at ISU. Jack will be missed very much.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says "grieve not for me". Remember the good times, laughter and song. The good life I lived while I was strong. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all,how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions no matter how small, go on with life don't worry about falls. I will miss you all dearly so keep up your chin until the day comes we're together again.

I just heard this heartbreaking news. I am deeply saddened for Jack and all of you. He was a special boy and had a way of making others feel special too. I will always hold a place in my heart for him and the loving memory of the carnation he gave to me all those years ago. That is the memory I will hold on to and cherish.
