Cheryl Dianne McCombs, 65, was born June 24, 1952 in Des Moines, the daughter of Don and Ramona (Allen) Booth. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab.

Cheryl retired as a Cosmetologist after many years. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping, Easter egg hunts and silly string fights with her family and friends. Cheryl had the gift of gab – she loved telling stories and could talk your ear off. Above all else, Cheryl loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured family gatherings.

Cheryl leaves to treasure her memory her loving children, Donnie Brinstad, Robert Brinstad (Misty Roach) and Lori (Wayne) Huss; her beloved grandchildren, Mercedes Brinstad, Clayton Huss, Taylor Brinstad, Brookes Brinstad, Carter Huss, Bailey Roach and Garrett Roach; her great-grandson, Noah Brinstad; her brother, Ron (Becky) Booth; special nieces, Christy Sheets and Jenny Townes; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kirk McCombs.

A Celebration of Her Life gathering will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses in loving memory of Cheryl.
