Carrol Taber

Carrol S. Taber, 90, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Mercy Capitol in Des Moines. He was born February 20, 1918 in Hubbard, Iowa to Daniel and Cora Taber. Carrol graduated from Hubbard High School and farmed in the Dewar, Iowa area. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. He and his wife Virginia enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida.
Carrol is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia; daughters, Mary Kirkpatrick of South Carolina and Judy (David) Tallant of Clive; son, Tom Taber of Omaha; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Gary Taber; brother, Larry Taber; and sister, Harriett McCann.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A second funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Locke Funeral Home, 1519 W. 4th St. in Waterloo. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Waterloo. Carrol will be cremated following the funeral services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for further donation to the American Heart Association and Alzheimer’s Association.
