David Pedersen
October 03, 2017
David Pedersen, 73, was called home by the Lord on October 3, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Harlan, on October 18, 1943, to Richard and Lucille Pedersen.
David married Joyce McDannel on December 20, 1963. He worked at John Deere for 30 years before retiring in 1993. David enjoyed woodworking, hunting, reading and spending time on his farm. He was an all around craftsman, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. His church and faith have always been a big part of his life and his greatest passion was his family and friends and the time he spent with them.
David is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Todd Pedersen (Amber McMahon) and Mark Pedersen (Nicole Davenport); grandchildren, Jason Pierschbacher, Melanie Pedersen (Gene Dow), Jordan Pedersen, Zach, Nick, Matt and Maggie Davenport; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Korbin, Kaitelyn, Carlean and Aubree; brother, Gail Pedersen (Ramona); sister, Carol Warner (Chuck). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; and niece, Lori Pick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Saylorville Church, 6429 NW 6th Dr, Des Moines. The family will receive visitors at the church starting at 9:00 a.m.

I am deeply sad for Joyce and family. Dave always came in giving hugs and a big smile. Our Jimmy, roommates and staff were always so happy to see Dave and Joyce and can't imagine life without his kindness and good spiritedness. My thoughts and prayers to your entire family,
