Jerry Norman

Jerome “Jerry” Norman, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Jerry was born on December 28, 1932 to George and Marie (Stone) Norman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He retired from the Register & Tribune after many years of dedicated service. Jerry enjoyed sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Francie (Jim) Marin and Michelle (Mark) Hoopes; son, Steve (Joni) Norman; grandchildren, JoDee (Matt) Blair, Nick Leto, Jana (Mark) Chittenden, Tim (Dana) Norman, Nicole Hoopes and Alan Hoopes; great-grandchildren, Christina (Brent) Brumm, Jamie (Donald) Thompson, Rachel Blair, Dakota Leto, Jordyn Norman, Josie Norman, Jaxson Leto, Brock Chittenden and Gatlin Chittenden; and great-great-grandchildren, Halen Brumm and Cady Perez.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; son, Craig Norman; grandson, Jamie Marin; great-grandson, T.J. Leto; brother, George Norman; and his parents.
