Gwendolyn “Jean” Kirkpatrick
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Gwendolyn “Jean” Kirkpatrick, age 88, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017. Gwen was born the daughter of Nicholas and Julia Meyers on March 13, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Donnie (Barb) Kirkpatrick, Pam (Don) Thompson, Betty Kain, Billie Stier, Rosemary (Fred) Collins, Roseann (Zane) Gearhart, and Ruth (Marty) Arndt; sisters, Ruth Gracey, Judy Richards, Betty Earixson, and Sheila Meyers; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren – 59 WOW!
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Rench.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2017 at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5299 E. University Ave., Des Moines.
Family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to The Bridges of Ankeny.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in loving memory of Jean.

Prayers and loving thoughts are with you all. Aunt Jean was a Sister, a Mother, a Grandmother and a Great grandmother. But I will always remember her as my Aunt. May God give you peace in this time of grief and mourning.

I am sorry to hear Aunt Jean passed away. I am sorry I didn't get to know her better. I did know she liked smoking, cards, and gambling. My prayers go to everyone in the family. Her spirit is still with you and you will see Aunt Jean someday.
