Verne Hodges

Verne Hodges, 84, passed away at his son’s home Monday February 25, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Verne was born on November 19, 1923. He served in the Navy during WWII. Verne retired from Western International. He enjoyed working in his yard and fishing.
Verne is survived by his daughter, Elsie “Sue” Edwards; sons, Chuck (Pam) Hodges and Jack (Ray) Hodges; sister, Rene Stockbauer; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine; three brothers; two sisters; and two infant sons.
