C. Evelyn Adams, 88, of Lancaster, KY died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5615 SW 14th Street. Friends may call after 2 p.m. where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Interment at Decatur Cemetery will be 1 p.m. Thursday.
Evelyn was born June 23, 1919 in Decatur County, Iowa. She worked for the Decatur County Hospital as a nurse’s aid for 20 years and was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her son James (Bernice) Adams of Chariton, her daughter Florence (Jerry) Roth of Katy, TX, her son, Ronald (Margaret) Adams of Lancaster, KY; her grandchildren, Ed Adams, Brenda Adams, Diana Herra, Steven Adams, Joe and Jeff Roth, Jennifer Keitges, Christopher and Matthew Adams; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1988, her parents, five brothers, and one sister.
