Virginia Sedars, 77, died Thursday, February 21, at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at IOOF Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Virginia was born April 27, 1930 in Indianola to Ralph and Jessie Morris. She lived in the Des Moines area all of her life. She enjoyed crafts and jigsaw puzzles. In her later years, she placed second in the Iowa State Fair Senior Spelling Bee.
Virginia is survived by her children, Lee Anne (Jerry) Cross and Michael (Cheryl) Sedars; sisters, Phyllis Orr and Eleanor Howard; brother, Robert Morris; and four grandchildren, Joshua and Casey Cross and Crystal and Christopher Sedars. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Sedars and infant daughter, Tina Sedars.
