John (Jack) R. Hutchinson

John (Jack) R. Hutchinson, 78, passed away January 16, 2008. John was born on April 7, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Martha and John Hutchinson. John graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1946 and from Drake University with a BS degree in Education in 1950 and an MS degree in Education Leadership in 1955. He was a member of Rotary, Alpha Xi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon and Faith United Church of Christ. John retired from Follett Publishing as a Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He was later the Superintendent of Schools for Lincoln Community School District.
John is survived by his wife Teresa Hutchinson; sons, Michael Hazelwood of West Des Moines, IA, John Hutchinson of LaPorte, IN, Jeff Hutchinson of Marion, IA, Dan Hutchinson of Oregon; daughters, Janna Cargin, Debra Leukenholter and Joan Green of Oregon, Anne Soblick of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jill Paulson of Solon, IA. John was preceded in death by his son David Hutchinson.
There was an immediate cremation. A memorial service is planned for the summer of 2008.
