Americo Nizzi

Americo “Mick” Nizzi, 78, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Grandview Lutheran Church.
Americo was born November 16, 1929 in Des Moines. He worked for the U.S. Post office for 35 years until his retirement in 1990.
Americo is survived by his wife, Arla; sons, Michael (Marilyn) Nizzi and Stephen (Kim) Nizzi, both of Des Moines; daughter, Pam (John) Swenson of Cedar Rapids; sister, Geraldine Stefani of Des Moines; six grandchildren, Tina Grover, Erik Swenson, Matt Nizzi, Chelsea Nizzi, Libby Nizzi and Zach Nizzi; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House or Grandview Lutheran Church.
