Service Details

Orville “Pete” L. Potter, 81, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the family greeting from 6 to 8pm.
Orville was born April 6, 1926 in Guthrie County to Lester and Neola Potter. He served in the United State Army during World War II. Orville retired from Bookey Packing Company. He was a member of the VFW and the Mitchellville American Legion Post. Orville loved watching his grandkids in sporting events and at music recitals. He enjoyed riding horses, camping, fishing and playing cards.
Orville is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel; his children, Linda Pray of PA., Sherry Potter of TX., Micheal (Debra) Potter of Runnells and David (Lisa) Potter of Bondurant; his 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; his sister, Lois Linn of Carroll; many nieces and nephews Orville was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings, Jim, Harold, Irene and Edna
Memorial contributions are suggested to either the Mitchellville Fire and Rescue or the Mitchellville American Legion.
