Eleanor Bates-Connor

Eleanor Bates Connor, 92, died Thursday, December 7, 2006. Eleanor was born July 16, 1914 to Howard and Mae Stripe. She was one of seven girls.
Eleanor married Clifford Bates and they spent a great deal of their life traveling and operating Galaxy Motion Picture Company. Eleanor enjoyed an eventful and joyous life. She had two children: Joy Mueller and Douglas Bates both of Des Moines; a son-in-law, Richard Mueller also of Des Moines; four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Phyliss Hill of West Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
