Marian Adams

Marian Jane Adams, 65, was born November 21, 1942 in Runnells, the 8th child of Art and Orpha DeJoode. She passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Taylor House. Marian graduated from Runnells High School, and later married David Adams on September 15, 1962. Two children blessed this union, Michael and Tracey. Marian volunteered at General Hospital for 14 years, which later became Mercy Capitol, and she also volunteered at hospice. Marian’s greatest joy in life was spending precious time with her granddaughter, Rebecca.
Marian leaves behind her son, Michael Adams of Altoona; daughter, Tracey (Joe) Fultz of Des Moines; her pride and joy, granddaughter, Rebecca; siblings, Willie DeJoode of Swan, Trudy (Larry) Hauserman of Topeka, Kansas, Carolyn (Larry) Richeson of Des Moines, Phyllis (Dick) Connett of Freeport, Illinois, Donnie (Martha) DeJoode of Carlisle, Beverly (Marvin) Pearson of Runnells, and Barb (Bill) McGrean of Altoona. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; sisters, Norma Wyant and Helen Eiselstein; brothers, Dick DeJoode and Ron DeJoode and sister-in-law, Lois DeJoode.
The family will greet friends from 5-8p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW. Funeral services will be at 10a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Altoona Regular Baptist Church, 803 3rd Ave. SW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca.

Mike, you are in our thoughts and prayers and I am so sorry for your loss, I know you loved your mother very much and you took such good care of her. The trips that you took together and the things you shared I am sure meant a lot to her and I know you will always remember them too. You will have many stories to share with Rebecca and keep your mother in her memory.
